Man With Head Injuries Found Dead On Side Of Long Island Road

A 39-year-old man with head injuries described as extensive was found dead by a passing motorist at a busy intersection in Suffolk County overnight, police said.

The discovery was made in Patchogue on the side of Rider Avenue, near Edwards Street, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Saturday, June 15, Suffolk Police said. 

The man, who has been identified as Clarence Wyche, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Wyche's place of residence has not yet been released.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
